The Ptereleotris zebra Zebra Dartfish is a sleek, elongated reef fish with a striking pattern of black and white horizontal stripes along its silvery body. Peaceful and shy, it often hovers above sandbeds or rockwork in small groups, retreating quickly to crevices when startled. Its graceful movements and social behavior make it an engaging addition to peaceful community reef tanks, adding both color and activity to the midwater column.

Zebra Dartfish thrive in established reef tanks with stable water parameters, moderate flow, and plenty of rockwork for hiding. Add only once the system is mature to reduce stress and ensure acclimation. A minimum tank size of 30 gallons is recommended, with larger setups preferred for small groups to allow natural schooling behavior.

Their diet should include high-quality frozen or pellet foods from San Francisco Bay Brand, Hikari, PE, TDO, and New Life Spectrum. Frequent, small feedings encourage natural foraging behavior and maintain optimal health.
