Anemones are one of the main draws for bringing would be reef tank enthusiasts into the aquarium hobby.  Reef aquariums conjure images of anemones hosting clownfish throughout the hobby. Anemones require a mature, stable reef tank (approximately 6 months old or more) with high lighting (250-350 PAR), moderate to high water flow, and consistent, high-quality water parameters. Anemones can move freely, so protect equipment like powerheads with guards and be mindful of their potential to sting surrounding corals.   

Provide a stable tank with live rock for them to attach to and while anemones gain most of their nutrition from photosynthesis, they are considered opportunistic feeders, that is to say, they gather food that floats by, so supplemental feeding with meaty foods such as shrimp, chopped fish or mysis shrimp 1-2 times per week can also afford much benefit.
