Unlike true anemones, they live within a soft, self-constructed tube buried in the substrate, quickly retreating into it when disturbed. Their tentacles can extend several inches into the water column, creating a dramatic, flower-like display as they sway with the current. Active primarily at night, they readily capture passing food with their stinging tentacles, adding both motion and intrigue to species-specific aquariums.
