Bi-Color Goniastrea - WYSIWYG Coral REAW61
Care Level: Moderate
Lighting: Low - Moderate (90-150 par)
Feeding: Mostly photosynthetic, however can benefit from supplemental feeding of meaty foods (mysis, brine shrimp, calanus)
Water Flow: Moderate and Indirect
Aggression: Semi-aggressive with long, venomous sweepers. Give proper spacing between corals to limit harming of nearby corals.
Substrate/Placement: Flat base on ledges or substrate in the lower 1/2 to lower 1/3 of aquarium.
Other LPS (REAW Category 6)
Other LPS corals need stable and ideal water quality (Temperature, Salinity, Alkalinity, Calcium, Magnesium, pH, and low nutrients). They prefer low to moderate flow to avoid tissue damage and should be placed low to mid-level in the aquarium, away from strong, direct currents, with low to moderate lighting depending on species. Adequate spacing is important, as many Category 6 LPS can be aggressive or extend sweeper tentacles. These corals benefit from supplemental feeding of small meaty foods such as mysis, calanus, finely chopped seafood, or reef blends, which can enhance growth and coloration.
