Species: Leptoseris spp.
Coral Type: Difficult SPS
Tan Lady Leptoseris is a rare and captivating small polyp stony coral known for its warm tan to golden-brown coloration that deepens under actinic or blue reef lighting. It typically forms thin, encrusting plates that spread across rock surfaces, often developing subtle ridges and valleys that give the colony a textured appearance. Polyps are small and extend slightly, creating movement and enhancing light capture. Its fluorescence is subtle but adds a soft, glowing effect, making it an elegant addition to mature SPS reef aquariums.
Coral Type: Difficult SPS
Lighting: High lighting requirements (approximately 200–300+ PAR)
Flow Rate: Moderate to High; gentle turbulence helps keep polyps clear of debris while supporting nutrient exchange
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic via symbiotic zooxanthellae; occasional target feeding with fine coral foods such as ReefRoids or Benereef can enhance growth and coloration
Aggression: Low toward neighboring corals, but delicate tissue requires careful placement away from aggressive species
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of any cross-contamination between systems, meaning all our livestock are ready for your display tanks.
