WWC Spooky Leptastrea Coral
Species: Leptastrea spp.
Coral Type: LPS Coral / Encrusting Coral
WWC Spooky Leptastrea Coral is a unique and colorful encrusting coral prized for its densely packed corallites and striking fluorescent coloration. Its small, closely spaced polyps create a fine, textured surface as the colony spreads across rockwork. Under blue-spectrum and actinic lighting, its contrasting colors and fluorescent pigments become especially vivid, giving the colony a distinctive glow that adds depth and texture to the reef aquarium.
Coral Type: LPS Coral / Leptastrea
Lighting: Low to Moderate lighting requirements (approximately 50–150 PAR)
Flow Rate: Low to Moderate; gentle, indirect water movement helps keep debris from settling across the colony while encouraging healthy polyp extension
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic through symbiotic zooxanthellae; occasional feedings of fine particulate coral foods may support growth, coloration, and overall health
Aggression: Peaceful to Semi-Aggressive; generally not highly aggressive, but adequate spacing should be maintained as the colony encrusts and expands across surrounding rockwork
Placement: Best placed on stable lower to mid-level rockwork where it has room to encrust and spread. Provide consistent lighting and gentle to moderate indirect flow.
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of cross-contamination between systems, meaning all of our livestock are carefully quarantined and prepared for your display tank.
