WWC Space Monkey Favia Coral
Species: Favia spp.
Coral Type: LPS Coral / Favia
WWC Space Monkey Favia is a striking large polyp stony coral prized for its bold coloration, fleshy polyps, and distinctive corallite structure. Each individual corallite displays contrasting colors and fluorescent highlights that become especially vivid under blue-spectrum and actinic lighting. As the colony develops, the tightly packed corallites create a dense, textured formation that adds depth and visual interest to the reef aquarium.
Coral Type: LPS Coral / Favia
Lighting: Low to Moderate lighting requirements (approximately 50–150 PAR)
Flow Rate: Low to Moderate; gentle, indirect water movement helps keep the coral clean while allowing its fleshy polyps to expand fully
Food Requirements: Photosynthetic through symbiotic zooxanthellae; occasional feedings of small meaty foods or fine particulate coral foods may support growth, coloration, and overall health
Aggression: Semi-Aggressive; Favia corals may extend sweeper tentacles at night and should be given adequate space from neighboring corals
Placement: Best placed on stable lower to mid-level rockwork where it can receive consistent lighting and gentle, indirect flow. Allow sufficient space for the colony to expand and avoid direct contact with nearby corals.
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of cross-contamination between systems, meaning all of our livestock are carefully quarantined and prepared for your display tank.
