Species: Echinophyllia spp.
Coral Type: Large Polyp Stony (LPS) Coral / Chalice Coral
WWC Raja Rampage Chalice is a highly prized designer chalice known for its extreme contrast and “glowing molten” coloration pattern. It typically features a deep red to fiery orange or maroon base with electric neon green to yellow eyes and corallite centers, often outlined with darker rims that enhance the high-contrast, almost radioactive appearance. Under strong blue-spectrum lighting, the coral exhibits intense fluorescence, making the green and yellow elements appear to glow against the darker background. This strain grows in an encrusting to plating form, gradually expanding into thick, textured colonies that develop a dramatic, layered surface over time.
Coral Type: LPS Coral / Chalice
Lighting: Low to Moderate (approximately 50–120 PAR). Best coloration is typically achieved under stable, blue-dominant reef lighting with minimal direct high-intensity exposure
Flow Rate: Low to Moderate; prefers gentle, indirect flow that keeps tissue clean without causing stress or retraction
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic via symbiotic zooxanthellae; benefits from occasional target feeding with fine particulate foods such as Reef Roids, amino acids, or small meaty foods (mysis or similar) to support growth and coloration
Aggression: Semi-Aggressive; capable of extending long sweeper tentacles at night that can sting nearby corals, requiring adequate spacing
Placement: Best placed in lower to mid rockwork zones or sandbed-adjacent areas with stable conditions and room for outward encrusting growth
We maintain a strict quarantine and acclimation protocol that includes extended observation, preventative dipping procedures, and continuous health monitoring to ensure all chalice corals are free from pests, infections, and stress before entering established reef systems.
