WWC Oregon Tort Acropora
Species: Acropora spp.
Coral Type: SPS Coral / Branching Acropora
WWC Oregon Tort Acropora is a highly sought-after small polyp stony coral prized for its deep blue to violet coloration and distinctive branching growth pattern. As the colony develops, it produces sturdy, irregular branches covered in small polyps, creating a dense and highly textured structure. Under blue-spectrum and actinic lighting, its rich coloration can become especially vivid, making this classic Acropora a standout addition to an established SPS reef aquarium.
Coral Type: SPS Coral / Acropora
Lighting: Moderate to High lighting requirements (approximately 200–400 PAR)
Flow Rate: Moderate to High; strong, turbulent water movement helps deliver nutrients and oxygen while keeping debris from accumulating between branches
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic through symbiotic zooxanthellae; consistent nutrient availability and occasional feedings of fine particulate coral foods may support healthy growth and coloration
Aggression: Peaceful to Semi-Aggressive; generally non-aggressive, but adequate spacing should be maintained as the colony branches and expands toward neighboring corals
Placement: Best placed on stable mid-level to upper rockwork where it can receive strong, consistent lighting and turbulent flow. Allow sufficient room for the colony to branch and develop without contacting nearby corals.
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of cross-contamination between systems, meaning all of our livestock are carefully quarantined and prepared for your display tank.
