Common Name: Fruit Loopz Micro Goniopora
Species Name: Goniopora sp. (micro variety)
Coral Type: LPS (Large Polyp Stony)
Care Level: Moderate
Physical Description:
Fruit Loopz Micro Goniopora is a vibrant, eye-catching coral known for its compact polyps and intense, multi-colored patterning. Each small polyp features a bright, contrasting center surrounded by rings of neon colors—commonly reds, oranges, yellows, greens, and purples—resembling the look of colorful cereal loops. Unlike traditional long-polyp Goniopora, this micro variety has shorter, denser tentacles that create a tighter, more textured appearance. Under actinic lighting, the fluorescent pigments glow intensely, producing a lively, shimmering display as the polyps gently sway.
Lighting:
Moderate (approximately 80–150 PAR); adapts well to stable lighting with gradual acclimation
Flow Rate:
Low to Moderate, indirect flow that allows consistent polyp extension without causing retraction
Food Requirements:
Photosynthetic but requires regular supplemental feeding. Benefits from frequent broadcast feeding of fine particulate foods such as phytoplankton, reef roids, and other micro-planktonic blends to maintain long-term health
Aggression:
Low; peaceful and well-suited for mixed reef aquariums
Placement:
Best placed on sandbeds or lower rockwork in stable areas where polyps can fully extend without strong direct flow
Aquaculture & Health Standards:
Aquacultured Fruit Loopz Micro Goniopora are more resilient than wild specimens but still benefit from stable, nutrient-rich systems. Maintain consistent alkalinity, calcium, and nutrient levels, and avoid sudden parameter swings. Regular feeding and observation are key to long-term success with this species.
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of any cross-contamination between systems, meaning all our livestock are healthy, stable, and ready for your display aquarium.
