WWC Electric Daisy Stylocoeniella
Species: Stylocoeniella sp.
Coral Type: Moderate SPS
Physical Description: Electric Daisy Stylocoeniella is a unique encrusting coral known for its clusters of bright, daisy-like polyps that create a textured mat across rock surfaces. The base typically forms a thin encrusting skeleton while small, star-shaped polyps extend outward, giving the colony a soft, floral appearance. The polyps often display vibrant green or yellow tones that contrast against a darker base. Under actinic lighting, the polyps fluoresce brightly, producing the glowing “electric daisy” effect that gives this coral its name.
Coral Type: Moderate SPS
Lighting: Moderate to High (approximately 150–250 PAR)
Flow Rate: Moderate with steady, indirect water movement
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic but benefits from occasional broadcast feeding of fine planktonic foods such as reef roids, rotifers, or amino acid supplements.
Aggression: Low; generally peaceful but should be given room to encrust and expand across rock surfaces.
Substrate: Best placed on rockwork where it can attach securely and spread as an encrusting colony.
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of any cross-contamination between systems, meaning all our livestock are ready for your display tanks.
