WWC Dragon Soul Prism Goniastrea
Species: Goniastrea spp.
Coral Type: LPS
Dragon Soul Prism Goniastrea is a striking large polyp stony coral prized for its intense coloration and geometric skeletal pattern. The coral forms thick, encrusting to dome-shaped colonies with distinct polygonal corallites that give the surface a honeycomb-like appearance. Coloration often includes vibrant shades of green, orange, yellow, and red with contrasting centers that glow strongly under actinic and blue-spectrum reef lighting. The fleshy polyps extend slightly during the day and more prominently at night, giving the coral a textured, living surface while maintaining its structured skeletal pattern.
Lighting: Low to Moderate lighting requirements (approximately 50–120 PAR)
Flow Rate: Low to Moderate
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic through zooxanthellae, but benefits from occasional target feeding with meaty or powdered coral foods such as ReefRoids or Benereef to promote growth and coloration
Aggression: Moderate toward neighboring corals; may extend short sweeper tentacles at night, so provide adequate spacing
Substrate: Best placed on rockwork or stable reef structures where the colony can encrust and expand
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of any cross-contamination between systems, meaning all our livestock are ready for your display tanks.
