The Holothuria hilla Tiger Tail Sea Cucumber is a striking marine invertebrate with a cylindrical body patterned in alternating dark and light bands, resembling a tiger’s tail. Calm and slow-moving, it continuously sifts through sand and detritus, helping maintain substrate cleanliness and overall reef health. Its peaceful, reef-safe nature and unique coloration make it a visually interesting and functional addition to established aquariums.

Tiger Tail Sea Cucumbers thrive in mature reef tanks with deep, clean sandbeds and stable water parameters. Add only after the system has established a healthy layer of detritus and microfauna to support its feeding habits. A minimum tank size of 50 gallons is recommended to provide ample substrate for natural foraging.

Their diet can be supplemented with fine particulate foods from San Francisco Bay Brand, Hikari, PE, TDO, and New Life Spectrum, alongside natural detritus and microfauna consumption. Target feeding ensures proper nutrition and maintains health.
