White Porcelain Crab — Neopetrolisthes maculatus

The Neopetrolisthes maculatus White Porcelain Crab is a small, reef-safe invertebrate with a flattened, translucent white body and delicate claws, often adorned with subtle spotting. Peaceful and sedentary, it spends most of its time clinging to rockwork or within anemone tentacles, using its feather-like mouthparts to filter-feed on plankton and detritus. Its charming behavior and miniature size make it a delightful addition to nano and full-sized reef aquariums alike.

White Porcelain Crabs thrive in established reef tanks with stable water parameters, moderate flow, and plenty of rock crevices or coral for shelter. Add only after the system is mature and free of aggressive predators. A minimum tank size of 10 gallons is recommended, with larger tanks preferred for multiple crabs or community setups.

Their diet can be supplemented with finely powdered or pellet foods from San Francisco Bay Brand, Hikari, PE, TDO, and New Life Spectrum to ensure proper nutrition alongside natural filter feeding. Target feeding helps maintain optimal health and encourages active behavior.
