Jason Fox Master PPE Cyphastrea
Species: Cyphastrea spp.
Coral Type: Moderate SPS
Master PPE Cyphastrea is a compact small polyp stony coral known for its intense, almost neon purple coloration with hints of pink or lavender under actinic and blue reef lighting. The coral forms encrusting or low-mounding colonies composed of tightly packed corallites with slightly raised rims, giving the surface a textured, honeycomb-like appearance. Its polyps extend modestly during the day, creating a subtle, living effect over the rigid skeleton. The combination of vibrant coloration and dense growth makes it an attractive choice for adding contrast and structure to SPS reef aquariums.
Coral Type: Moderate SPS
Lighting: Moderate to High lighting requirements (approximately 150–250 PAR)
Flow Rate: Moderate to High, with indirect turbulence to keep polyps extended and prevent detritus buildup
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic via symbiotic zooxanthellae; occasional broadcast or target feeding with fine coral foods such as ReefRoids or Benereef can enhance growth and vibrancy
Aggression: Low toward neighboring corals, but allow some spacing to prevent shading or overgrowth
Substrate: Best placed on rockwork or reef structures where it can encrust and expand naturally
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of any cross-contamination between systems, meaning all our livestock are ready for your display tanks.
