Jason Fox Flicka Flame Cyphastrea
Species: Cyphastrea sp.
Coral Type: Other LPS
Physical Description: Jason Fox Flicka Flame Cyphastrea is an eye-catching encrusting coral known for its vibrant contrast between a darker base and intensely colored polyps that appear as glowing “flames.” The coral forms a thin encrusting skeleton that spreads across rock surfaces, gradually forming a colorful mat of tightly spaced polyps. Each small polyp sits within a defined corallite, giving the colony a textured and speckled appearance. Under actinic lighting, the polyps fluoresce brightly, creating a shimmering effect across the colony.
Coral Type: Other LPS
Lighting: Low to Moderate (approximately 50–120 PAR)
Flow Rate: Low to Moderate with gentle, indirect flow
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic but benefits from occasional broadcast feeding of fine coral foods such as reef roids, rotifers, or other micro-planktonic foods.
Aggression: Low; generally peaceful but should still be given some space to allow natural encrusting growth.
Substrate: Best placed on rockwork or vertical surfaces where it can encrust and spread outward.
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of any cross-contamination between systems, meaning all our livestock are ready for your display tanks.
