Gold X Ligthning Maroon Clownfish — Amphiprion biaculeatus

The Gold X Lightning Maroon Clownfish is a stunning and a rare variation of the classic Maroon Clown, known for its dramatic, irregular white “lightning bolt” markings across its deep orange body. With its bold and striking coloration, it makes a show-stopping addition to any reef aquarium. These fish are highly territorial and can be aggressive, particularly when defending their anemone or nesting area, so they do best in tanks with larger, more robust tankmates.

Gold X Lightning Maroon Clownfish thrive in established reef tanks with stable water parameters, moderate flow, and plenty of live rock or corals to serve as natural shelter. Because of their territorial nature, a minimum tank size of 30 gallons is recommended, though larger tanks with ample hiding spots are ideal to give them the space they need to feel secure.

Their diet should include high-quality frozen or pellet foods from San Francisco Bay Brand, Hikari, PE, TDO, and New Life Spectrum, as well as occasional meaty foods such as shrimp or small fish. Target feeding encourages healthy growth and vibrant coloration.
