Green Filefish thrive in mature reef tanks with stable water parameters, moderate flow, and plenty of hiding spots among rockwork or corals. Introduce only to mature systems to ensure they acclimate well and have enough natural foraging opportunities. A minimum tank size of 30 gallons is recommended, with larger tanks preferred for more active, diverse setups.

Their diet should include algae-based foods such as Julian Sprung’s Sea Veggies, along with high-quality frozen or pellet foods from San Francisco Bay Brand, Hikari, PE, TDO, and New Life Spectrum to maintain vibrant coloration and overall health. Target feeding promotes natural grazing and robust health.
