Description:
ECC Sunburst Montipora is a colorful SPS coral that brings vibrant coloration and intricate surface texture to a reef aquarium. Its encrusting growth form allows it to gradually cover suitable rockwork, creating a natural, colorful reefscape as the colony matures. Under strong blue and actinic lighting, its coloration can become especially pronounced. Like other Montipora, it benefits from stable water chemistry, consistent nutrients, and good water movement.

Lighting: Moderate to High – approximately 150–300 PAR
Flow Rate: Moderate to High – varied, turbulent flow that keeps the colony clean and provides consistent water movement across its surface
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic through its symbiotic zooxanthellae. Stable nutrient levels are important, and occasional fine particulate foods may be offered as supplemental nutrition.
Aggression: Peaceful to Semi-Aggressive – generally not highly aggressive, but allow adequate room as the colony expands across surrounding surfaces.
Placement: Best positioned on stable mid to upper-level rockwork where it can receive consistent lighting and turbulent flow. Leave room around the colony for continued encrusting growth.
