ECC Starlight Cespitularia

Species: Cespitularia sp.

Coral Type: Soft Coral

Physical Description: Starlight Cespitularia is a delicate soft coral known for its shimmering blue to silver iridescent coloration that appears to glow under reef lighting. The coral forms branching, tree-like stalks topped with clusters of small star-shaped polyps that sway gently in the current. Its soft tissue structure gives the colony a flowing, feathery appearance as it grows upward and outward. Under actinic lighting, the coral displays a distinctive metallic blue sheen that makes it highly sought after in reef aquariums.

Coral Type: Soft Coral
Lighting: Low to Moderate (approximately 50–120 PAR)
Flow Rate: Moderate with steady, indirect flow to keep the polyps gently moving
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic but may benefit from occasional broadcast feeding of fine planktonic foods such as phytoplankton or reef roids.
Aggression: Low; generally peaceful but should be given room to expand as colonies grow.
Substrate: Best placed on rockwork where the colony can attach securely and grow upward into branching clusters.

We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of any cross-contamination between systems, meaning all our livestock are ready for your display tanks.
