Species: Leptoseris sp.
Coral Type: LPS Coral (Large Polyp Stony – Encrusting/Plating)
Physical Description: Kiwi Fusion Leptoseris is a highly sought-after low-light LPS coral known for its vivid coloration and finely detailed, plating growth form. It typically features a glowing lime-green to neon kiwi base with intense fusion-like accents of yellow, gold, and subtle teal that radiate outward from the corallites. The surface is thin, smooth, and plate-like, with delicate ridging and tightly packed polyps that give it a shimmering, almost glassy appearance. Under actinic and deep blue-spectrum lighting, the fluorescent pigments intensify dramatically, creating a luminous “neon fusion” effect that appears to glow from within the coral itself. As it grows, it forms thin, overlapping plates that spread across shaded rockwork, often creating layered, reflective structures.
Coral Type: LPS (Large Polyp Stony – Encrusting/Plating)
Lighting: Low to Moderate (approximately 30–100 PAR; thrives in lower light zones)
Flow Rate: Low to Moderate with gentle, indirect flow to prevent tissue stress and allow clean polyp extension
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic but benefits from occasional dosing of fine particulate foods, amino acids, and reef plankton products
Aggression: Low; generally peaceful but will encrust and plate over available shaded surfaces
Substrate: Best placed on shaded rockwork, overhangs, or lower reef zones where it can expand under lower light conditions
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of any cross-contamination between systems, meaning all our livestock are ready for your display tanks.
