Species: Echinophyllia sp.
Coral Type: LPS Coral (Large Polyp Stony)
Physical Description: Hollywood Stunner Chalice is a fast-growing, highly fluorescent chalice coral known for its vivid neon coloration and dramatic encrusting plate structure. It typically features a deep teal to blue-green base overlaid with intensely bright fluorescent green to electric lime oral ridges. The contrast between the dark base and glowing ridges creates a rippling, almost 3D effect across the coral surface. As the colony expands, it forms thin, plating structures that can rapidly encrust over rockwork and adjacent surfaces. Under actinic and blue-spectrum lighting, the fluorescent green highlights become extremely intense, giving the coral a signature “glowing slab” appearance that stands out strongly in lower to mid reef zones.
Coral Type: LPS (Large Polyp Stony)
Lighting: Moderate (approximately 80–180 PAR)
Flow Rate: Moderate with indirect, varied flow to keep tissue clean and support healthy expansion
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic but benefits from regular target feeding of meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, finely chopped seafood, or LPS coral blends
Aggression: High; capable of long sweeper tentacles at night that can sting and damage nearby corals—requires significant spacing
Substrate: Best placed on stable rockwork or lower reef ledges where it can encrust freely without contacting neighboring corals
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of any cross-contamination between systems, meaning all our livestock are ready for your display tanks.
