Species: Montipora sp.
Coral Type: SPS Coral (Small Polyp Stony)
Physical Description: Aquaman Montipora is a bold, aquatic-themed SPS coral known for its deep oceanic coloration and dynamic growth structure. It typically features a rich blend of teal, deep blue, and emerald green tones across an encrusting to plating surface. The base color often leans toward dark ocean blue or green, while raised growth ridges and polyp areas display brighter fluorescent greens and aquamarine highlights, creating a strong “underwater current” effect. The fine polyp structure gives the surface a textured, rippling appearance that becomes especially vivid under strong lighting. Under actinic and blue-spectrum lighting, the coral fluoresces intensely, producing a glowing, oceanic shimmer reminiscent of deep-sea energy.
Coral Type: SPS (Small Polyp Stony)
Lighting: High (approximately 200–350 PAR)
Flow Rate: Moderate to High with strong, random turbulent flow to support healthy skeletal growth and prevent detritus buildup
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic but benefits from occasional dosing of amino acids, trace elements, and fine SPS coral foods
Aggression: Low; non-aggressive but encrusts and plates over available rock surfaces as it grows
Substrate: Best placed on stable live rock in high-light, high-flow zones where it can safely encrust and expand
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of any cross-contamination between systems, meaning all our livestock are ready for your display tanks.
