Blue Green Reef Chromis – Chromis viridis

The Blue Green Reef Chromis is a shimmering, iridescent schooling fish known for its brilliant turquoise-to-emerald coloration that shifts beautifully under reef lighting. Peaceful and active, this species brings constant motion and visual interest to community aquariums. Their social nature makes them ideal for small groups, where they exhibit natural shoaling behavior. Hardy and adaptable, they are a popular choice for both beginner and advanced reef keepers.

Blue Green Reef Chromis thrive in aquariums with open swimming space, moderate flow, and plenty of rockwork for retreat. They should be added after the tank is fully cycled and stable, especially when kept in small groups. A minimum tank size of 30 gallons is recommended for a group of three or more.

These chromis eagerly accept high-quality frozen and prepared foods from San Francisco, Hikari, PE, TDO, and New Life Spectrum, especially mysis, enriched brine, and small pellet food formulas. A varied, nutrient-dense diet enhances their coloration and supports long-term health.
