WWC Slimeball Spongodes Montipora is a highly distinctive SPS coral known for its unusual texture, vibrant fluorescence, and aggressive encrusting-to-branching growth form. It develops thick, irregular branches and nodular surfaces that create a “spongy” or lumpy appearance across the colony. The “Slimeball” morph is especially prized for its intense neon green to yellow-green tissue coloration, often contrasted by darker undertones and bright fluorescent polyps that glow strongly under actinic lighting.

As it grows, Slimeball Spongodes forms dense, spreading structures that can encrust rockwork quickly while also developing knobby protrusions, giving it a wild, untamed aesthetic in SPS-dominated reef systems.
