WWC Ruby Sanctum Platygyra

Species: Platygyra spp.
Coral Type: LPS Coral / Brain Coral

Description:
WWC Ruby Sanctum Platygyra is a distinctive large-polyp stony coral known for its maze-like corallite patterns and richly textured appearance. Its intricate ridges and contrasting coloration can create a striking display under blue and actinic lighting, adding depth and character to an LPS or mixed reef aquarium. With stable water chemistry and suitable placement, this coral can gradually develop into an impressive colony.

Coral Type: LPS Coral / Brain Coral
Lighting: Low to Moderate – approximately 50–150 PAR
Flow Rate: Low to Moderate – gentle, indirect flow that helps prevent debris from collecting between the coral’s ridges
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic through its symbiotic zooxanthellae. Occasional small meaty foods or fine particulate coral foods may be offered to supplement nutrition and support healthy growth.
Aggression: Semi-Aggressive – Platygyra may extend sweeper tentacles, particularly at night, so provide adequate clearance from neighboring corals.
Placement: Best positioned on lower to mid-level rockwork or a stable substrate where it receives low to moderate lighting and gentle, indirect flow. Leave enough space around the colony for growth and nighttime sweepers.

Quarantine & Biosecurity:
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program designed to protect the health of our coral collection and help reduce the introduction of unwanted pests and pathogens. Each coral is carefully inspected and monitored before being made available, providing an added layer of confidence when introducing new specimens to your reef system.
