Species: Pocillopora spp.
Coral Type: SPS (Small Polyp Stony Coral)
WWC Rainbow Pocillopora is a highly sought-after branching SPS coral known for its rapid growth and striking multicolored appearance. It forms dense, bush-like colonies made up of tightly packed, knobby branches covered in fine polyps. The “Rainbow” morph is especially prized for its dynamic coloration—often featuring a mix of pinks, purples, greens, oranges, and yellows distributed across different branch tips and tissue sections, creating a vibrant, ever-changing mosaic effect.
Under actinic or blue-spectrum lighting, the fluorescent pigments intensify, making the colony appear even more vivid and giving it a glowing, multidimensional look.
Coral Type: SPS
Lighting: Moderate to High (approximately 150–300 PAR)
Flow Rate: Moderate to High; strong, random flow is essential to support fast growth and prevent detritus accumulation within the branching structure
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic via symbiotic zooxanthellae; benefits from stable water parameters and may respond well to occasional amino acid or fine particulate coral supplementation
Aggression: Peaceful; does not typically extend sweeper tentacles but requires space due to its fast, branching growth
Placement: Best placed in upper to mid-level reef zones with strong lighting and flow, allowing room for rapid expansion in all directions
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of any cross-contamination between systems, meaning all our livestock are ready for your display tanks.
