WWC Ragin' Rojo Goniopora
Species: Goniopora spp.
Coral Type: LPS Coral / Flowerpot Coral
Description:
WWC Ragin' Rojo Goniopora is a striking large-polyp stony coral known for its extended flower-like polyps and colorful, flowing appearance. When fully extended, its tentacles create a beautiful display of movement and texture, making it an eye-catching addition to an LPS or mixed reef aquarium. Its coloration can stand out under blue and actinic lighting. Stable water parameters, suitable lighting, and consistent gentle flow are important for maintaining healthy polyp extension and long-term growth.
Coral Type: LPS Coral / Goniopora
Lighting: Low to Moderate – approximately 75–150 PAR
Flow Rate: Low to Moderate – gentle, indirect flow that allows the polyps to sway naturally without being pushed continuously in one direction
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic through its symbiotic zooxanthellae. Regular supplemental feeding with fine particulate coral foods may help support its nutritional needs and overall condition.
Aggression: Peaceful to Semi-Aggressive – provide adequate space from neighboring corals, as extended polyps may contact nearby colonies.
Placement: Best positioned on lower to mid-level rockwork or a stable substrate with moderate lighting and gentle, indirect flow. Allow sufficient room for full polyp extension.
Quarantine & Biosecurity:
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program designed to protect the health of our coral collection and help reduce the introduction of unwanted pests and pathogens. Each coral is carefully inspected and monitored before being made available, providing an added layer of confidence when introducing new specimens to your reef system.
