WWC Purple Hearts Zoanthids

WWC Purple Hearts Zoanthids

Species: Zoanthus spp.
Coral Type: Soft Coral / Colonial Polyp

Description:
WWC Purple Hearts Zoanthids feature eye-catching purple coloration that adds a vibrant pop of color to any reef aquarium. These colonial polyps can create a beautiful, spreading mat across suitable rockwork under stable reef conditions. Their color and growth may vary depending on lighting, water quality, and overall aquarium stability.

Coral Type: Soft Coral / Zoanthid
Lighting: Moderate — approximately 75–150 PAR
Flow Rate: Low to Moderate, with gentle indirect flow to keep debris from settling between polyps
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic; occasional supplemental feeding with fine coral foods such as Reef Roids may support growth
Aggression: Generally peaceful but can spread and compete with nearby corals for space
Placement: Place on an isolated rock or designated frag island to help manage colony growth and prevent unwanted spreading.

Quarantine & Biosecurity:
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program designed to protect the health of our coral collection and help reduce the introduction of unwanted pests and pathogens. Each coral is carefully inspected and monitored before being made available, providing an added layer of confidence when introducing new specimens to your reef system.

Safety Note: Zoanthids can contain palytoxin. Avoid unnecessary direct contact, and never cut, crush, boil, or use power tools on these corals. Use appropriate protective equipment and good ventilation when handling or fragging them.
