WWC Nightvision Stylocoeniella

Species: Stylocoeniella spp.

Coral Type: SPS (Small Polyp Stony Coral) / Encrusting Coral

WWC Nightvision Stylocoeniella is a high-impact encrusting SPS coral known for its deep, shadowy base coloration contrasted with intense fluorescent polyp glow. It grows as a thin, spreading mat that tightly hugs rock surfaces, gradually forming a textured crust of tiny corallites. The “Nightvision” morph is especially prized for its dramatic contrast—typically featuring a dark purple, deep blue, or near-black base overlaid with glowing neon green or electric teal polyps that appear to light up under actinic illumination.

As the colony expands, it creates a vivid, low-profile carpet effect that adds both texture and intense fluorescence to reef aquascapes.

Coral Type: SPS / Encrusting Coral
Lighting: Moderate to High (approximately 150–300 PAR)
Flow Rate: Moderate to High; strong, random flow promotes healthy tissue growth and keeps the surface free of detritus
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic through symbiotic zooxanthellae; may benefit from occasional amino acid supplementation or ultra-fine particulate coral foods
Aggression: Peaceful; does not possess sweeper tentacles but should be given space due to its encrusting growth pattern
Placement: Best placed on stable rock surfaces in well-lit, high-flow areas where it can safely encrust and expand without being shaded

We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of any cross-contamination between systems, meaning all our livestock are ready for your display tanks.
