WWC Neon Astreopora

Species: Astreopora spp.

Coral Type: SPS (Small Polyp Stony Coral)

WWC Neon Astreopora is a bright, encrusting SPS coral known for its vivid fluorescence and finely textured surface. It grows as a spreading, dome-like colony covered in tiny, evenly distributed corallites that give it a smooth yet granular appearance. The “Neon” variety is especially prized for its intense glowing coloration—typically featuring electric greens, bright blues, or golden highlights that contrast against a deeper base tone. Under actinic or blue-spectrum lighting, the fluorescence becomes especially intense, making the colony appear almost lit from within.

As it matures, Neon Astreopora forms thick encrusting plates that gradually expand across rock surfaces, adding a clean, glowing layer of color to SPS-dominated reef structures.

Coral Type: SPS
Lighting: Moderate to High (approximately 150–300 PAR)
Flow Rate: Moderate to High; strong, random flow promotes healthy growth and prevents detritus buildup
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic via symbiotic zooxanthellae; may benefit from occasional amino acid supplementation or fine particulate coral foods
Aggression: Peaceful; does not extend sweeper tentacles but should be given space due to encrusting growth
Placement: Best placed on stable rockwork in well-lit, high-flow areas where it can safely encrust and expand

We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program with proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure top-tier coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity protocols reduce cross-system contamination risk, ensuring all livestock are fully ready for established reef aquariums.
