Common Name: Lemonade Galaxea
Species Name: Galaxea sp.
Coral Type: LPS (Large Polyp Stony)

Care Level: Moderate

Physical Description:
Lemonade Galaxea is a striking LPS coral known for its bright, citrus-toned coloration and pronounced polyp structure. Its base typically ranges from pale yellow to neon green, accented by contrasting centers that can appear white, pink, or light orange, giving it a refreshing “lemonade” look. The coral forms a semi-encrusting to branching skeleton with distinct, star-like polyps that extend during the day. Under actinic lighting, its fluorescent pigments intensify, creating a glowing, high-contrast display with noticeable movement as polyps sway in the current.

Lighting:
Moderate (approximately 80–150 PAR); can tolerate slightly higher light with proper acclimation

Flow Rate:
Moderate, indirect flow to promote polyp extension while preventing detritus buildup

Food Requirements:
Photosynthetic but benefits from occasional feeding of meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and reef roids to support growth and overall health

Aggression:
High; known for extending long sweeper tentacles, often several inches in length, especially at night—requires generous spacing from other corals

Placement:
Best placed on isolated rockwork or areas of the aquarium where it has plenty of space to expand without contacting neighboring corals

Aquaculture & Health Standards:
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of any cross-contamination between systems, meaning all our livestock are healthy, stable, and ready for your display aquarium.
