Species: Turbinaria spp.
Coral Type: LPS (Large Polyp Stony Coral)
WWC Lakerz Turbinaria is a bold plating and encrusting LPS coral known for its structured growth and high-contrast coloration. It develops thick, scroll-like or plate-forming structures covered in raised corallites that give the surface a rugged, textured look. The “Lakerz” morph is especially prized for its deep purples and blues paired with bright fluorescent polyps that often glow yellow-green under actinic lighting, creating a strong visual pop reminiscent of neon highlights over a dark base.
As it grows, this coral builds layered plates that can curve and overlap, adding both height and structure to reef aquascapes.
Coral Type: LPS
Lighting: Moderate (approximately 75–200 PAR)
Flow Rate: Moderate; steady, indirect flow helps keep tissue clean and supports healthy extension
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic via symbiotic zooxanthellae; benefits from occasional target feeding with fine particulate or meaty LPS foods (e.g., Reef Roids, mysis-based blends)
Aggression: Low to Moderate; generally peaceful but requires space due to its expanding plating growth form
Placement: Best placed on stable rockwork in mid-level lighting zones where plates can expand without shading nearby corals
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program with proactive treatments, close observation, and daily monitoring to ensure top-tier coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity protocols reduce cross-system contamination risk, ensuring all livestock are fully ready for established reef aquariums.
