WWC Hi-Cee Cyphastrea
Species: Cyphastrea spp.
Coral Type: LPS (Large Polyp Stony Coral) / Encrusting Coral
WWC Hi-Cee Cyphastrea is a brightly colored encrusting coral known for its citrus-inspired fluorescence and dense polyp patterning. It grows as a thin, spreading crust that tightly follows rock surfaces, gradually forming a textured mat of raised corallites. The “Hi-Cee” morph is especially prized for its vivid orange, yellow, and neon green coloration, often featuring glowing polyps scattered across a contrasting darker base that creates a bold, high-energy appearance.
Under actinic or blue-spectrum lighting, the fluorescent pigments intensify dramatically, giving the colony a glowing “fruit punch” effect that stands out beautifully in lower-light reef zones.
Coral Type: LPS / Encrusting Coral
Lighting: Low to Moderate (approximately 50–150 PAR)
Flow Rate: Low to Moderate; gentle, indirect flow helps keep the surface clean and promotes healthy polyp extension
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic through symbiotic zooxanthellae; benefits from occasional target feeding with fine particulate foods such as Reef Roids or Benereef to enhance growth and coloration
Aggression: Peaceful; does not typically extend sweeper tentacles but should be given space to encrust without competition from faster-growing corals
Placement: Best placed on stable rockwork in lower to mid-light areas where it can safely spread and develop its encrusting pattern
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of any cross-contamination between systems, meaning all our livestock are ready for your display tanks.
