Species: Favia spp.
Coral Type: LPS (Large Polyp Stony Coral)
WWC Fantasmo Favia is a highly prized LPS coral known for its ghostly glow and bold, high-contrast coloration. This encrusting to slightly dome-shaped coral develops distinct, fleshy corallites that create a textured, quilted surface across the colony. The “Fantasmo” morph typically features a pale to icy white or soft neon base highlighted by intense fluorescent green, blue, or purple centers, giving it an ethereal, glowing appearance—especially under actinic lighting.
As it grows, Fantasmo Favia forms a thick, expanding colony that adds both structure and intense color pop to lower and mid-level reef zones.
Coral Type: LPS
Lighting: Low to Moderate lighting requirements (approximately 50–150 PAR)
Flow Rate: Low to Moderate; gentle flow is ideal to keep tissue clean while allowing full polyp extension
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic via symbiotic zooxanthellae; benefits from occasional target feeding with meaty or fine particulate coral foods such as Reef Roids or Benereef
Aggression: Moderate; may extend short sweeper tentacles at night, so spacing from neighboring corals is recommended
Placement: Best placed on stable rockwork in lower to mid-light areas where it can encrust freely without being shaded or crowded
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of any cross-contamination between systems, meaning all our livestock are ready for your display tanks.
