Citrus Cooler Zoanthids
Species: Zoanthus spp.
Coral Type: Soft Coral / Colonial Polyp
Citrus Cooler Zoanthids are a vibrant and eye-catching colonial coral prized for their intense neon coloration and rapid growth. Each polyp displays a glowing mix of citrus-inspired hues, often featuring bright orange, yellow, green, and gold centers accented by contrasting skirts that shimmer under blue-spectrum lighting. These tightly clustered polyps form colorful mats across rockwork, creating a lively and dynamic display in reef aquariums. Under actinic lighting, their fluorescent pigments become exceptionally vivid, making Citrus Cooler Zoanthids a standout addition to any coral collection.
Coral Type: Soft Coral / Zoanthid
Lighting: Moderate lighting requirements (approximately 75–150 PAR)
Flow Rate: Low to Moderate; gentle, indirect water movement helps keep debris from settling while encouraging healthy polyp extension
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic through symbiotic zooxanthellae; occasional feedings of fine particulate coral foods such as Reef Roids or Benereef may promote faster growth and enhanced coloration
Aggression: Peaceful to Semi-Aggressive; generally reef-safe, though they can spread quickly and may overgrow nearby corals if not managed
Placement: Best placed on isolated rock islands or stable reef structures where colonies have room to expand and receive consistent lighting
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of any cross-contamination between systems, meaning all our livestock are ready for your display tanks.
