Common Name: Bubble Bath Acropora
Species Name: Acropora sp.
Coral Type: SPS (Small Polyp Stony)
Care Level: Moderate to Advanced
Physical Description:
Bubble Bath Acropora is a striking SPS coral known for its pastel, high-contrast coloration and distinctive growth pattern. Branches are typically smooth to slightly textured, featuring a soft blue, teal, or lavender base with contrasting cream, yellow, or pinkish corallites that give it a “bubbled” or frosted appearance. The axial tips are often lighter, adding to its layered, dimensional look. Under actinic lighting, subtle fluorescence emerges, enhancing its delicate color palette and making it a standout in SPS-dominant systems.
Lighting:
Moderate to High (approximately 200–350 PAR); requires strong lighting for optimal coloration and growth, with careful acclimation to avoid bleaching
Flow Rate:
Moderate to High, turbulent flow to promote gas exchange, nutrient delivery, and strong skeletal development
Food Requirements:
Primarily photosynthetic but benefits from regular broadcast feeding of amino acids, phytoplankton, and fine particulate foods to support coloration and growth
Aggression:
Low; non-aggressive but can be affected by nearby corals, so allow space for growth and proper flow
Placement:
Best placed in the upper regions of the aquarium where lighting and flow are strongest and most consistent
Aquaculture & Health Standards:
Aquacultured Bubble Bath Acropora is more resilient than wild specimens but still demands stable, mature reef conditions. Maintain consistent alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium levels, along with low but detectable nutrients. Avoid rapid parameter swings, as Acropora are sensitive to instability and can quickly show signs of stress.
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of any cross-contamination between systems, meaning all our livestock are healthy, stable, and ready for your display aquarium.
