WWC Blue Lobster Favia

Species: Favites spp.
Coral Type: LPS Coral / Favia-Type Coral

Description:
WWC Blue Lobster Favia is a distinctive large-polyp stony coral that adds rich texture and color contrast to a reef aquarium. Its intricate corallite structure and contrasting tones can create an eye-catching display, particularly under blue and actinic lighting. With stable water parameters and appropriate care, this coral can gradually develop into an attractive colony, making it a great addition to an established LPS or mixed reef aquarium.

Coral Type: LPS Coral / Favia-Type Coral
Lighting: Moderate – approximately 75–150 PAR
Flow Rate: Low to Moderate – gentle, indirect flow that helps keep the coral free of debris while allowing its tissue to extend naturally
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic through its symbiotic zooxanthellae. Occasional small meaty foods or fine particulate coral foods may be offered to supplement nutrition and support healthy growth.
Aggression: Semi-Aggressive – Favia-type corals may extend sweeper tentacles, particularly at night, so maintain adequate space from neighboring corals.
Placement: Best positioned on lower to mid-level rockwork or another stable surface receiving moderate lighting and gentle, indirect flow. Leave sufficient clearance around the colony for growth and nighttime sweepers.

Quarantine & Biosecurity:
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program designed to protect the health of our coral collection and help reduce the introduction of unwanted pests and pathogens. Each coral is carefully inspected and monitored before being made available, providing an added layer of confidence when introducing new specimens to your reef system.
