WWC Angel Eye Favia

Species: Favia spp.

Coral Type: LPS

Angel Eye Favia is a visually striking large polyp stony coral known for its distinctive “bullseye” coloration. Each corallite features a bright green or yellow center surrounded by a contrasting ring of brown, red, or orange, giving it the appearance of an angel’s eye. Colonies typically form dome-shaped or encrusting structures with fleshy polyps that extend slightly during the day, creating a textured, living surface. Under actinic or blue-spectrum lighting, the fluorescent pigments intensify, making the colony a vibrant focal point in mixed reef aquariums.

Coral Type: LPS
Lighting: Moderate lighting requirements (approximately 100–200 PAR)
Flow Rate: Low to Moderate; gentle to moderate water movement helps keep polyps clean and fully extended
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic via symbiotic zooxanthellae; occasional target feeding with fine meaty or powdered coral foods such as ReefRoids or Benereef supports growth and coloration
Aggression: Moderate; may extend short sweeper tentacles, so allow adequate spacing from neighboring corals
Substrate: Best placed on stable rockwork or reef structures where the colony can grow without being shaded

We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of any cross-contamination between systems, meaning all our livestock are ready for your display tanks.
