Rock Anemone- Standard

Species: Epicystis crucifer (Rock Flower Anemone)

Coral Type: Anemone (Cnidarian – Actiniaria)

Physical Description: Standard Rock Anemones are hardy, colorful sessile anemones prized for their naturally variable patterns and vibrant coloration. Each individual typically features a central oral disk with radiating color gradients that can include shades of green, red, orange, purple, brown, and teal. The tentacles are short, bulbous, and densely packed, giving the anemone a plush, flower-like appearance when fully expanded. Even within “standard” morphs, no two specimens are identical—each displays its own unique combination of rings, speckling, or subtle striping. Under actinic and blue-spectrum lighting, fluorescent pigments become more pronounced, enhancing contrast and depth across the disk.

Coral Type: Anemone (Rock Flower Anemone)
Lighting: Low to Moderate (approximately 50–150 PAR)
Flow Rate: Low to Moderate with gentle, indirect flow to support full expansion and prevent tissue stress
Food Requirements: Photosynthetic but benefits from occasional target feeding of small meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, chopped seafood, or specialized anemone diets
Aggression: Moderate; sessile but capable of stinging nearby corals or invertebrates within reach
Substrate: Best placed on sandy substrate or low rockwork where it can securely anchor and remain stable without frequent disturbance

We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of any cross-contamination between systems, meaning all our livestock are ready for your display tanks.
