Species: Epicystis crucifer (Rock Flower Anemone)
Coral Type: Anemone (Cnidarian – Actiniaria)
Physical Description: Green Rock Anemones are vibrant sessile anemones prized for their intense fluorescent green coloration and naturally diverse patterning. Each specimen typically features a bright neon to deep emerald oral disk, often accented with subtle radial striping, speckling, or contrasting tones around the mouth. The short, bulbous tentacles form a dense, plush ring that gives the anemone its characteristic flower-like appearance when fully expanded. Under actinic and blue-spectrum lighting, the green pigments fluoresce strongly, producing a vivid glowing effect that makes this morph especially eye-catching in lower sandbed focal areas.
Coral Type: Anemone (Rock Flower Anemone)
Lighting: Low to Moderate (approximately 50–150 PAR)
Flow Rate: Low to Moderate with gentle, indirect flow to support full expansion and prevent tissue stress
Food Requirements: Photosynthetic but benefits from occasional target feeding of small meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, finely chopped seafood, or specialized anemone diets
Aggression: Moderate; sessile but capable of stinging nearby corals or invertebrates within reach
Substrate: Best placed on sandy substrate or stable low rockwork where it can securely anchor and remain undisturbed
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of any cross-contamination between systems, meaning all our livestock are ready for your display tanks.
