The Pinktail Triggerfish is a vibrant and robust species featuring a deep green to bluish body contrasted by a bright, bubblegum-pink tail and subtle yellow facial highlights. Reaching 10–12 inches as an adult, it is active, inquisitive, and known for its bold but generally less aggressive nature compared to other triggerfish. This species becomes highly interactive with keepers and adds striking movement and color to larger marine displays. Once settled, it is hardy and adaptable, making it a rewarding choice for experienced hobbyists.

A minimum tank size of 180 gallons is recommended due to its adult size, activity level, and need for open swimming space. Add the Pinktail Trigger later in the stocking sequence, as it can become territorial toward smaller tankmates once established. Provide strong flow, ample rockwork for shelter, and a secure lid to prevent jumping.

The Pinktail Trigger is a carnivore that readily consumes meaty foods; offer Hikari Brine Shrimp and PE Mysis, supplemented periodically with larger items such as Ocean Nutrition Clams on the Half Shell to satisfy natural foraging instincts. A varied diet helps maintain strong coloration and robust health.
