Physical & Behavioral Description
Keukenthal’s Cleaner Shrimp features a translucent body accented by bold red striping and bright white antennae, typically reaching up to 2–2.5 inches in length. This species is highly active and visible, often establishing “cleaning stations” where it removes parasites and dead tissue from fish. Peaceful and social, it may be kept singly or in small groups, and is known for its rhythmic waving behavior to attract clients. It is reef-safe and compatible with most community aquarium species.  The popular, easy to care for marine shrimp is often used in reef tanks to eliminate pest Aiptasia anemones and clean fish parasites.  

Suitable Tank Description
Keukenthal’s Cleaner Shrimp thrives in stable reef aquariums with ample rockwork for hiding and molting. A minimum tank size of 20 gallons is recommended, with stable salinity and iodine levels to support proper molts. Best added to established systems with consistent parameters and a peaceful stocking list.

Diet Description
An opportunistic omnivore, it will readily accept frozen foods such as San Francisco Bay Brand Mysis Shrimp, Hikari Mysis Shrimp, and PE Mysis. It can also be trained to eat high-quality prepared foods like TDO Chroma Boost and New Life Spectrum pellets to ensure balanced nutrition.
