Koran Angelfish (Pomacanthus semicirculatus) – Reef with Caution

The Koran Angelfish, also known as the Semicircular Angelfish or Halfcircled Angelfish, is a hardy and striking addition to any large marine aquarium. Juveniles display a bold black body accented with vibrant white and blue stripes, while adults transform into a stunning blend of yellow and green hues that deepen from front to back.

This species thrives best in aquariums of 250 gallons or larger, with plenty of live rock for hiding, grazing, and natural algae growth. Though admired for its beauty and resilience, it should be housed in reef tanks with caution, as it may nip at soft corals and clams.

A varied diet of Spirulina, marine algae, high-quality angelfish preparations, and mysis or frozen shrimp—offered multiple times daily—helps maintain its health and coloration.
