Kenya Tree Coral – Capnella sp.

The Kenya Tree Coral is a hardy, fast-growing soft coral known for its branching, tree-like structure and gentle swaying motion in the current. Typically reaching 6–12 inches depending on conditions, it adds natural movement and a soft, flowing aesthetic to reef aquascapes. Its resilience and adaptability make it an excellent choice for beginners, yet its rapid growth appeals equally to experienced hobbyists. Kenya Trees readily propagate, allowing reefers to share or rehome frags easily.

A minimum tank size of 10 gallons is suitable, as this coral thrives in both nano and larger reef systems. Add Kenya Tree Coral once the tank is fully cycled and stable, as it prefers consistent parameters and moderate flow. It tolerates a wide range of lighting levels, though moderate light often produces the best growth.

While primarily photosynthetic, Kenya Tree Coral benefits from occasional feeding of small particulate foods. Offer PolypLab’s ReefRoids (noting it can raise phosphates) or Benepets Benereef to encourage faster growth and fuller polyp extension.
