Hector's Goby — Coryphopterus Hectori
Hector’s Goby is a small, brightly colored reef fish with a slender body, featuring a mix of vibrant yellow, blue, and orange hues along its sides and tail. Known for its calm and peaceful demeanor, this goby often perches on live rock or coral rubble, where it actively forages for small invertebrates, detritus, and algae. It adds both color and movement to reef aquariums, and its shy, non-aggressive nature makes it a good fit for peaceful community tanks.
Hector’s Goby thrives in established reef tanks with stable water parameters, moderate flow, and plenty of live rock or rubble for shelter. It is best introduced to mature systems with established microfauna for it to graze on. A minimum tank size of 30 gallons is recommended, though larger tanks are ideal for providing ample space for natural foraging behavior.
Their diet should include high-quality frozen or pellet foods from San Francisco Bay Brand, Hikari, PE, TDO, and New Life Spectrum, supplemented with small invertebrates or live foods like copepods. Target feeding encourages natural foraging and supports overall health and vibrant coloration.
Approximate product size: 1.5"–2.5" (varies by availability)
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of fish health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of any cross-contamination between systems, meaning our livestock are ready for your display tanks.
