Species: Galaxea sp.
Coral Type: LPS Coral (Large Polyp Stony)
Physical Description: Yellow Passion Galaxea is a highly luminous LPS coral known for its vibrant neon coloration and dramatic polyp structure. It typically displays a glowing yellow to golden-green base with intensely contrasting oral centers that may appear white, cream, or slightly iridescent depending on lighting conditions. Each polyp is raised and well-defined, giving the colony a textured, crystalline appearance that expands into a dome-like or encrusting structure over time. Under actinic and blue-spectrum lighting, the fluorescent pigments intensify significantly, creating a radiant “electric” glow that makes this coral a standout centerpiece in lower to mid reef zones.
Coral Type: LPS (Large Polyp Stony)
Lighting: Moderate (approximately 80–180 PAR)
Flow Rate: Moderate with steady, indirect flow to keep tissue clean while allowing full polyp extension
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic but benefits from regular target feeding of meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, chopped seafood, or LPS coral blends
Aggression: High; capable of extending long, potent sweeper tentacles at night that can sting and damage nearby corals—requires significant spacing
Substrate: Best placed on stable rockwork or isolated reef islands with ample clearance from other corals
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of any cross-contamination between systems, meaning all our livestock are ready for your display tanks.
