ECC Candy Corn Clove Polyp
Species: Clavularia spp.
Coral Type: Soft Coral / Clove Polyp
Description:
ECC Candy Corn Clove Polyp is a colorful soft coral known for its delicate, feathery polyps and attractive spreading growth pattern. Its contrasting coloration can become especially vibrant under blue and actinic lighting, while its gently swaying polyps add movement and texture to the reef. Clove polyps can spread across suitable surfaces over time, making them an excellent choice for creating a lush, colorful section of the aquascape.
Coral Type: Soft Coral / Clove Polyp
Lighting: Moderate – approximately 75–150 PAR
Flow Rate: Moderate – steady, indirect flow that allows the polyps to sway naturally while helping prevent debris from settling within the colony
Food Requirements: Primarily photosynthetic through their symbiotic zooxanthellae. Occasional fine particulate foods may be offered as supplemental nutrition to support healthy growth and coloration.
Aggression: Peaceful to Semi-Aggressive – generally non-aggressive, but clove polyps can spread rapidly and may overgrow nearby surfaces or corals.
Placement: Best placed on an isolated rock, frag island, or designated area where the colony has room to spread without encroaching on neighboring corals.
Quarantine & Biosecurity:
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program designed to protect the health of our coral collection and help reduce the introduction of unwanted pests and pathogens. Each coral is carefully inspected and monitored before being made available, providing an added layer of confidence when introducing new specimens to your reef system.
