Physical Description: Bling Bling Cyphastrea is a dazzling encrusting LPS coral known for its high-density fluorescence and “jewel-like” polyp distribution. It typically features a darker base ranging from charcoal and deep brown to muted green, overlaid with countless tiny, brilliantly colored polyps that appear to sparkle across the colony surface. These polyps often display intense neon greens, electric blues, bright oranges, and golden yellows, creating a scattered “bling” effect reminiscent of scattered gems. Under actinic and blue-spectrum lighting, the fluorescence becomes extremely vivid, making the coral appear as if it is glittering or shimmering across the rockwork. As it grows, it forms a thin encrusting layer that tightly follows substrate contours, enhancing its textured, jewel-studded appearance.
