Blue-Lined Rabbitfish – Siganus doliatus

The Blue-Lined Rabbitfish is a striking, elongated reef fish with a silvery body marked by bold, horizontal electric-blue stripes running from head to tail. This species is peaceful but active, often seen grazing on algae along rock surfaces, and will occasionally display territorial behaviors when kept with other rabbitfish. It also has venomous dorsal spines, so careful handling is required.

It thrives in mature, stable reef aquariums with plenty of live rock for grazing and moderate flow. Add only after the tank has fully cycled and parameters are stable. A minimum tank size of 75 gallons is recommended to provide ample swimming space.

As an herbivore, the Blue-Lined Rabbitfish feeds on algae and accepts premium prepared foods from San Francisco, Hikari, PE, TDO, and New Life Spectrum. Supplement with Julian Sprung’s Sea Veggies to support natural grazing behavior and digestive health.
